Location: Fenway Park circa 2003, box seats, first base line
Situation: Slinky mama walks by....

Dialogue:

CC Baby (Big Clayt):  Carl Eric, I'd say about an eight (pointing to a fine hunny)
Carl Eric:  Oh, a rating game for hot women?
CC Baby:  That's right Carl Eric, me and your godfather (III) used to do this all the time...
Carl Eric:  What about her?  (pointing to a large woman with Fenway Frank walking by..)
CC Baby:  Oh, we didn't rate them ... (famous quiet CC Baby chuckle ensues).

It was the second time that I went to visit with Clayt (Jr.), and upon my arrival he asked if I would ride along with him to mail a letter.  I agreed, and we departed, but only made it to the end of his driveway.  Clayt came to a stop, and began muttering profanity.  I curiously looked over at him, and he returned my glance with a mischievous smile.

The speedometer climbed to 50, and there we were in the middle of the ball field opposite his house chasing crows and doing donuts in his car.

Clayt Jr. Russ and the Rock

I was doing some work with Clayt in the “State Park” (the property below the house) about a year ago.  There was one rock (rather large) that Clayt couldn’t decide on the best location for. He asked me to move it a couple of times. Ultimately the rock ended up exactly where it began.

We decided to move on to the next project, at which time Clayt tripped over the rock they had just “moved”.

Russ was worried that Clayt had hurt himself until he saw Clayt’s sly grin and heard him say “If people wouldn’t move the d**n rocks around on me….”

I would be hard-pressed to tell a Clayt III or Clayt Jr. story in 100 words or less. I'm not going to try. I will never forget either man, though, and they each had a major INFLUENCE on this man that you all know and love today. I am proud to know the entire Dovey family and the two rocks - better known as CCDs - are IMMORTAL to us and through us. R. Ethan Blough

Agent 105

CC Jr. was always obsessed with the weight of his women -- Adele, LLD and Lex. So, when Lex was overcome by his questions about weight -- which launched most all telephone conversations, I told Lex to always respond to G-Pa with the figure 105 pounds -- no matter what. Thus the reason Alexis' alias is Agent 105.

One Christmas holiday I traveled back to J-town to celebrate with the family, and especially Alexis, who had traveled home for the holiday. During that visit -- Clayt (III) was extholing (to Alexis, in my presence) the importance, joys and challenges of the family lineage of aunts. He said, "Alexis, I have Crazy Aunt Wanda, and you have LLD, who we will from here on out call Lyin' Aunt Laurie (LAL)."

Now -- what the heck is up with that?
